picking up things from the side of the road is not uncommon although some people might not be keen on doing it since it does come at a risk, especially when it comes to personal Items like mattresses

technically speaking you aren't allowed to dig through anyone's garbage and if you get caught you might get reported although it's an unwritten rule that for furniture Items placed on the side, then it's fine to take them although it's good practice to ask anyways if you can

I have gotten some motors and other electronic parts from people's broken appliances before though.

that being said, I think it's less of a matter of being eco-friendly and more of a matter of saving money

as for re-gifting presents, it is somewhat common although my family tends to organize and label the gifts to avoid the mistake of re-gifting to the person that gave it to you. again, less of an eco-friendly idea more of a money saving idea

breakfast in america is know for being quite calorie and fat dense. I think it stems from farmers who needed a lot of calories to work on fields. America has a lot of delicious food that is very bad for you.

that being said, bacon and syrup is quite popular to the point that some store bought bacon for one to cook come pre-flavored with syrup taste. fried chicken and waffles with syrup is also a pretty popular combination

wonder and wander CAN have the the same pronouciation, specially when
spoken fast or casually but if you're trying to avoid confusion, people
tend to nudge pronounciation, although a lot of the time the difference
is less one the vowel you use (wAHHnder vs wUOnder) and more with the
emphasis and openess of the vowel, wonder has a softer emphasis
and wander has a more open emphasis although context clues help.

garbage in america is often sorted into recycled and non-recycled, SOME
people may even sort it into another category of compostable BUT alot
of facilities in the US don't really have the infrastructure to deal
with recycle so they just end up mixing it in with everything and dumping
it in landfill.

particularly in businesses and in apartment complexes, they have dumpstesrs
about 1x2x1 meters and truck come in with forks and collect it, they're
big enought to fit someone and often times people climb into it hoping
to find something good, this is not usually done in dumpsters owned by
restaurants since most of the trash is food waste and broken glass
so instead they target dumpsters owned by palces like walmart since
they tend to throw away stuff that is still in its original package and
so thend to be much less dirty and messy

I think that the way that the US deals with trash can definitely be improoved
and I do think that sorting trash like Japan CAN help with that but most
people don't want to... myself included めんどくさい

personally, no school I've been to has had something like that to ease
the stress of exams, I guess it depends on school budget. test in america
are usually split into two categories: multiple choice, and short answers

most people tend to like miltiple choice since even if you don't know the
answer, you usually have a 1/4 chance of getting it right. shor answers
are typically dreaded by students since it requires you to explain why
you got the aswer you got which need much deeper understanding. that being
said, even multiple choice can be difficult becuase sometimes all of the
asnwers can sound plausible and some are made to be harder by making
some of the answers made to be dependant of making a single mistake.

easy multiple choice

Q at what temperature does water boil at?
a:-10 C
b:10 C
c:100 C
d:none of the above

hard multiple choice

q:possible is to plausible as maybe is to

a:perhaps
b:possible
c:plausible
d:concievable

although I don't know much about food lable policy in america,I have
personally seen that a lot of americans don't know what is in their
food or where it comes from. I have heard that some americans believe
that chocolate milk comes from brow cows although I'm uncertain how likely
tha is to be true.

america tends to be a little more strict on labeling EVERYTHING that is
in food becuase of the past where people might have added stuff that
wasn't good for people. that being said companies still blur the line
by having the ability to call the same thing by multiple names to confuse
people more. Palm oil, which is something that recebntly has gained attention
fro its unsustainabily has many names a producer can call it so that
it's not easily noticed by consumers

I think that the problem that a lot of people have with tips that is that
it transformed from an extra thanks for good service and it was used to
extract more money. servers/ waiters typically is about 2.50 to 7 dollars
an hour which is basically nothing. this means that the customer is basically
forced to tip since tips are the only real way servers make money.
this is bad becuase it incetivices owners to push more and more of the
cost to the consumer by guilting them with something that used to be and
act of thanks.
